Jimmy Poon, M.B.A. Sport – Founder, Dubai Sports Camps

A native of Hong Kong, claiming Dubai as home for over four decades, Jimmy’s background includes early years marketing global brands in media. Jimmy founded Boqin in 2008, choosing to pursue what he feels most passionately about establishing Boqin to fulfill the potential of those Chosen by Sport. Jimmy leads and supports Dubai Sports Camps, plus oversees the rest of the core management team at Boqin along with its Board of Directors. A husband and a father of two young children, Jimmy is a keen sports fan born from his love of tennis, He has contributed time as a sports-business columnist and has also established sports management curriculums teaching professionals who are inspired to work in the industry.

Chris Wind – Camp Director

With an extensive professional sports background and over a decade of Director-level expertise in the holiday camp industry, he brings invaluable insights into sports and education, consistently ensuring that staff and programs maintain the highest standards. His leadership has been pivotal in expanding our programs and venues while safeguarding exceptional quality. Driven by a commitment to customer service and child development, he strives to create a positive, enriching experience for every parent and child attending our camps.

Katja Mechler – Customer Service & Social Media Executive

Katja brings a wealth of expertise in sports events and the medical field, having established a significant presence in Dubai since 2002. Over the years, she has been deeply engaged in organizing and supporting camps, contributing across various roles and levels. Her background equips her with unique insights into both the logistical and health-related aspects of sports programming, making her an invaluable asset in designing and executing high-quality, safe, and engaging camp experiences. Katja’s long-standing experience and dedication underscore her ability to foster dynamic, supportive environments for participants of all ages.

Abigeil Sevilla – Head Administrator, Dubai International Academy

Abby has extensive experience in camp administration and event management, making her an indispensable asset to our team. Her deep expertise spans program planning, team coordination, logistics, and participant engagement, ensuring every aspect of our events runs smoothly. Her proactive approach, combined with her attention to detail, fosters a positive environment and seamless experience for participants, staff, and partners alike. Her dedication and leadership have been instrumental in enhancing the quality and success of our programs.

Anelen Butt – Head Administrator, Raffles World Academy

Anelen has over 13 years of experience in camp administration and accounting, with a deep commitment to creating positive, memorable experiences for children. Her expertise extends beyond managing logistics and finances; she excels at fostering an inclusive and engaging camp environment where children feel valued and inspired. Anelen’s genuine passion for her work is evident in her dedication to seeing each child thrive, and she finds immense joy in every smile she brings to their faces.

Rocile Dela Pena – Head of After School Club
